WABA's petition calls on the National Park Service and the administration to protect East Potomac Park's intended use as a place for public recreation. It asks for:
- Established procedures and an evaluation of safety and environmental impacts before changes to public spaces, roads, or facilities.
- Transparent decisions about the park and golf courses, with public comments included.
- A community-focused, affordable park protected as public space.
- No use of the golf course lease process for political gain.
Park users and golfers are on the same side: keep the perimeter loop and waterfront open, preserve the historic muni with common-sense improvements, and keep the rest of the peninsula a park for everyone.
